Closure of ECU's Churchlands campus library

Well, we've weeded & consolidated collections to Joondalup & Mt.Lawley campus libraries & now Churchlands library's finally closed its doors.

We had a "farewell Churchlands" afternoon tea which was well attended by current & past Churchlands staff on the 13th June & the doors officially closed on Friday 20th June.

The removalists arrived today & IanC & I were here to see the staff pc's & Reference Collection moved. Despite advertising the closure, we've had about 10 clients arrive on our doorstep to renew, borrow & take pictures.

Movies etc

We went to a couple of movies last week (had to use up our movie vouchers in a hurry!). On the recommendation of our kids, we went to see Ironman & and really enjoyed it. We also went to see Kingdom of the crystal skull but found it ok but a little flat -- a victim of same old same old. We probably would have enjoyed hugely a few years ago.

We also went to the Manfreds (Manfred Mann) concert at Burswood theatre - nostalgia night! Songs which were good then still sound good to listen & sing to & Paul Jones still sounded good & he knew how to get the crowd going. My observation of the crowd: the '60s & '70s groovy guys & gals in the audience are now the grey haired 50's & 60's.
